Under the general direction of the Neurodiagnostic Manager, the technologist performs electroneurodiagnostic testing. The
technologist must show competencies in all modalities, including Electroencephalograms, Long term monitoring, Ambulatory EEG,
Nerve Conduction Studies, Evoked Potentials and Intraoperative Brain Mapping (as applicable).

Essential Functions
• Performs neurological procedures independently and completely on all ages.
Upon completion of competency, able to independently assist neurologist with brain mapping as assigned.
Greets patients and explains testing procedures to them.
Facilitates all aspects of study completion, including, taking patient history, necessary paperwork charging and archiving.
Troubleshoots equipment, inventories and stocks supplies.
Knowledge of the diagnostic span and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit.
Demonstrate and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.
Maintain knowledge of current practices and techniques as recommended.
Takes call as needed and responds in a timely manner.
Serves as an educator/preceptor and liaison for staff and students as applicable.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
Answers the phone within three rings, files reports appropriately and makes copies of studies upon request.
Maintains appropriate records and regularly attends staff meetings.
Maintains order and cleanliness of work area.
Communicates effectively.
Assists manager with daily operations and other duties as assigned.
Education/Training
High school graduate or equivalent.
Completion of an AMA-accredited training program in Electroencephalographic Technology, Electrodiagnostics or
Electroneurodiagnostics field. One year clinical experience in the electroneurodiagnostic field and successful demonstration of
electroneurodiagnostic clinical competencies may substitute for training program (in addition to the requirements listed in the
Experience section).
Licensure/Certification
Registration by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET),
CMET or American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (REEGT, CMET, REPT, REDT/RNCST) required. Renewal
according to the American Board of Registration and Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET):
REEGT and REPT certification prior to 1997-no expiration date; for certification after 1997—renewed every 10years; for REPT
certification after 2010-renewed every 5 years.
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider Certification.
Experience
Three years clinical experience in the Neurodiagnostic field.
