Position Overview
A seasoned IT professional with 5+ years of diverse experiences. Proven expertise in enterprise virtualization, infrastructure management, and systems engineering. Specialized in VMware environments (vSphere 5.x–8.x), VxRail, and Nutanix platforms, managing complex infrastructures with a large number of hosts and virtual machines.
Consistently leads high-impact infrastructure projects—from migrations and upgrades to performance tuning and incident resolution. Strong background in Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and enterprise storage technologies (SAN, NAS, RAID). Adept at cross-functional collaboration, vendor engagement, and providing Tier-3 level support.
The Senior Systems Administrator maintains and supports the organization’s multi-user software applications, information technology systems, and related technologies.

Essential Functions
• Performs complex problem resolution and documentation.
• Provides analysis of business and user needs to implement application/file changes to improve the system.
• Ability to develops project plans for system upgrades or other Information Technology (IT) related projects.
• Create testing plans, test scripts, performs system testing and document results.
• Perform configuration, testing, and document of those configuration changes as it pertains to clinical or business/custom applications.
• Support the interfaces and integration of data within the Orlando Health systems.
• Performs performance improvement tasks to resolve application related issues.
• Has a thorough understanding and ability to support the IT application system architecture.
• Performs software upgrades, and vendor fixes to operating systems and layered software packages including planning/scheduling, testing, and coordination.
• Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
• Performs daily monitoring of supported systems to ensure system integrity.
• Performs system monitoring and data evaluation for growth statistics, space forecasts, disk spaces planning and management.
• Defines standards for data backup / recoveries and maintains software/hardware inventories.
• Has thorough understanding of interfaces and/or file structure(s) between the core business software and any relevant Orlando Health IT systems or hardware.
• Creation, documentation and implementation of change requests.
• Develops and promotes standard operating procedures and process documentation.
• Maintains appropriate system security to meet state or federal regulations and to insure the confidentiality of all data.
• Actively mentor and guide less experienced staff.
• Independently serve periods of on-call coverage at scheduled intervals.
• May be required to support unplanned events during after-hours and weekends
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
• Understands the core business practice and the customers supported by the technology.
• Acts as a liaison between the business unit and Information Technology (IT) to resolve any IT-related issues.
• Maintains communication with IT managers and team members.
• Participates in a positive collaborative relationship within IT and between IT and customer departments.
• Assists in the assessment and planning for appropriate system solutions that best fit current and future business requirements that are consistent with Orlando Health’s long-range plans.
• Stays current with applicable technology to maintain and increase job knowledge.
• Establishes measurable goals for professional enhancement.
• Shares knowledge and information to educate and cross-train other team members
Education/Training
• Bachelor’s degree required. Associate’s degree and two (2) years of directly related work experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section). Four (4) years of directly related work experience may also substitute for the Bachelor’s degree (in addition to the requirements listed in the Experience section).
Licensure/Certification
None required
Technical certifications preferred such as VMware (VCP), A+, Cisco related certification, Microsoft certifications , etc
Experience
Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in the implementation and/or support of information technology applications.
