Baptist Health Citizens Hospital is a 122-bed medical and surgical facility located in Talladega, Alabama. The hospital
offers a full complement of services, including diagnostic imaging, digestive health care, orthopedics, sleep medicine
and surgical services. The hospital’s dedicated sleep disorder center is accredited by the American Academy of
Sleep Medicine, the gold standard for sleep care.

Position Summary
The Manager, Quality Services and Infection Prevention provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for quality
performance and infection prevention. It ensures high-quality patient care through system wide establishment of clinical practices,
regulatory compliance, and performance improvement initiatives. Works closely with the hospital’s nursing, medical staff,
executives, and quality team to support the Baptist Health goals. The position is responsible for surveillance, analysis, and reporting
of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), staff education, and the development of policies that align with national standards and
organizational goals

Essential Functions
• Communicates corporate quality and safety initiatives to all team members and physicians.
• Develops and monitors action plans for clinical quality and infection prevention improvement.
• Leads implementation of strategies focused on quality, safety, and service across departments.
• Collaborates with performance improvement teams and quality councils to identify and act on improvement opportunities.
• Monitors hospital progress on quality scorecards and Board metrics.
• Participates in and leads performance improvement activities aimed at reducing infection risks.
• Ensures compliance with infection control practices and regulatory standards (JCAHO, AHCA, OSHA, CMS, CDC).
• Develops and maintains health system policies and procedures that meet national infection control standards.
• Conducts surveillance, analysis, and reporting of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs).
• Investigates clusters and outbreaks, compiling data into actionable reports.
• Educates employees on infection prevention practices and regulatory requirements.
• Develops and delivers educational programs across the organization.
• Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with medical staff, hospital leadership, and allied health/support
services.
• Collaborates with operational and clinical teams to support a culture of safety.
• Participates in the integration of healthcare technology and information systems to support service needs.
• Uses data analytics to inform infection prevention strategies and performance metrics.
• Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
• Conducts focus reviews and facilitates resolution of infection control issues.
• Leads infection prevention and quality committees.
• Reports findings and recommendations to appropriate stakeholders.
• Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health / Orlando Health policies and procedures
Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree in clinical field; Registered Nurse, Medical Technologist or Registered Respiratory Therapist. BSN or MSN
preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Active nursing license preferred.
Licensure/Certification in Infection Control (CIC) within three (3) years of hire through the Certification Board of Infection Control and
Epidemiology Inc. – renewed every five years.

Experience
• Minimum of three (3) years’ clinical experience with ability to demonstrate previous experience in quality initiatives within the
healthcare institution. Actively seeking learning opportunities related to Infection Prevention and Control.
• Knowledge in spreadsheet generation, graphics, and word processing applications
