Essential Functions

• Provides routine treatments and interventions consistent with the educational level and skills learned in the academic environment and demonstrated competency through Orlando Health.
• Performs skills after achievement of demonstrated competencies such as: nasogastric tube irrigation, suctioning, and removal; wound irrigation; complex dressing change without packing of wounds; maintenance of enteral tube feeding.
• Performs increase or continuous visual observation for Baker Act, behavioral health and suicide risk patients as assigned.
• Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs.
• Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
  Assures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
• Follows standard precautions. Adheres to Hand Hygiene and PPE procedures.
• Communicates appropriate information regarding the patient’s condition to the registered nurse (RN) and other members of the healthcare team.
• Participates in handoff report and purposeful hourly rounding on patients.
• Documents information according to Orlando Health specific policies and guidelines.
• Transports and assists patients through the admission and discharge process. Transports Baker Act, behavioral health and suicide risk patients to diagnostic testing and procedures.
• Provides exceptional service and or care to all patients, families, customers, and team members.
  
• Transports and delivers items, equipment, blood products and medications (excluding substances and IV chemotherapy drugs) throughout the facility.
  
• Receives and processes incoming calls, patient calls and guest requests.
  
• Provides exceptional service and or care to all patients, families, customers, and team members.
• Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health and Orlando

Nurse Intern Requirements:

Education/Training: Must be a nursing student enrolled in a registered nurse (ADN, BSN, or MSN) nursing program at a college or university and have successfully completed Fundamentals of Nursing Course accompanied with clinical rotation.  Proof of enrollment in a pre-licensure, professional nursing program with no break in enrollment to exceed one year is required.
Licensure/Certification:  Current BLS/Healthcare provider certification. 

Senior Nurse Intern Requirements:

Education/Training:Must be a nursing student enrolled in a registered nurse (ADN, BSN, or MSN) nursing program at a college or university and are successfully entering into their final two semesters of the RN Program.Proof of enrollment in a pre-licensure, professional nursing program with no break in enrollment to exceed one year is required.
Licensure/Certification:  Current BLS/Healthcare provider certification
