Responsible for the proper functioning of piped systemsto include natural gas, medical gases, vacuum, heating, steam (traps and piping), valves, controls, piping, outside utilities on premises(sewer and storm drains, gas, water), water distillers, pumps, hot and cold water, tanks, drains, water booster systems and fire protection.
Essential Functions
• Repairs, adjusts, or replacesthe entire plumbing systems, including waste-vent water piping, and fixtures and equipment served by
these systems in compliance with state plumbing code.
• Plans, installs and services plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls used to transport water, waste or gases.
• Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on plumbing systems and fixtures. Installs supports and hangers for pipes,
fixtures, and equipment. Assembles and installs valves, controls, and fittings.
• Reviews drawings, plans and specifications to determine system layout for repair or modification.
• Collaborates with outside utilities and vendors on premises.
• Responds to emergency calls.
• Worksindependently from work orders or verbal instructions and prioritizes work based on type and circumstance.
• Works with inspectors from the water and/or sewer department, fire department and plumbing inspectors.
• Performs visual inspections to detect abnormal operation and correct deficiencies.
• Maintains inventory and orders stock.
• Identifiesrequired tools and special equipment.
• Installs variousfixturesin new work and remodeling projects.
• Coordinates shutdown of various plumbing systems as necessary.
• Supervises trades assigned to help with plumbing projects.
• Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state,
and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

• Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
• Participatesin scheduled departmentmeetings.
• Maintainsthe confidentiality and security of all data and information relating to the facility, medical staff, and patients.
• EnsuresJoint Commission and other regulatory or licensure requirements are updated andmaintained.
• Maintains current operational and repair recordsfor all utilities equipmentto include vendor related activities.
• Promotes and engagesin behavior thatis conducive toOrlando Health’sstandards of behavior.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
Education/Training
High school graduate or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification
Valid Alabama driver’slicense with no more than six (6) points, at least 21 years of age, and must be insurable under the Orlando Health insurance carrier’s requirements and standards.
Experience
Three (3) years’ experience as a plumber. One (1) year of experience isrequired if a trade or vocational school graduate
