Position Summary

As an Occupational Therapist, you will treat injured, ill, or disabled patients through the therapeutic use of everyday activities to help them develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Evaluate patients by gathering data from the patient, physician, interdisciplinary team meetings (if available), family, and other relevant sources.
  • Develop treatment plans that integrate with the continuum of care and include specific goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on the assigned caseload.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret information to identify age-specific needs, providing care as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate competency in the use, care, and maintenance of profession-specific equipment, observing safety precautions and explaining equipment purpose to patients.

Qualifications

Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an approved program in Occupational Therapy

Licensure/Certification

  • Current Occupational Therapist license in the State of Florida (temporary permit acceptable)
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification

Experience

  • No prior experience required
