Position Details

  • Location: 2010 Brookwood Medical Center Drive
  • Schedule:
    • Weekdays as needed
    • One weekend per month required
    • Ability to work around or on major and minor holidays
  • Pace: Moderately paced
  • Setting: Acute Care Hospital & Inpatient Rehabilitation
  • Experience Requirement: Experienced SLP only – No CFYI

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing disorders across varying acuity levels
  • Conduct and interpret Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies and FEES
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans
  • Re‑evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment goals throughout the continuum of care
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, PTs, OTs, dietitians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Educate patients and families to support safe swallowing, communication, and recovery
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliant billing practices
  • Identify when patients have achieved optimal benefit from therapy and communicate discharge recommendations

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) required
  • Active Florida SLP license (provisional license acceptable)
  • Current BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification
  • No CFYI – prior clinical experience required
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies
    • Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
    • Inpatient rehabilitation and acute care hospital settings
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
