Position Details
- Location: 2010 Brookwood Medical Center Drive
- Schedule:
- Weekdays as needed
- One weekend per month required
- Ability to work around or on major and minor holidays
- Pace: Moderately paced
- Setting: Acute Care Hospital & Inpatient Rehabilitation
- Experience Requirement: Experienced SLP only – No CFYI

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing disorders across varying acuity levels
- Conduct and interpret Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies and FEES
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence‑based treatment plans
- Re‑evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment goals throughout the continuum of care
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, PTs, OTs, dietitians, and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients and families to support safe swallowing, communication, and recovery
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliant billing practices
- Identify when patients have achieved optimal benefit from therapy and communicate discharge recommendations

Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) required
- Active Florida SLP license (provisional license acceptable)
- Current BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification
- No CFYI – prior clinical experience required
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies
- Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
- Inpatient rehabilitation and acute care hospital settings
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
