Position Summary

Supports emergency and critical care areas by serving as a learning facilitator, mentor, and change agent to guide practice transitions and promote clinical excellence. Leads the design and delivery of staff education, ensures competency, and fosters professional growth in alignment with Baptist Health’s mission and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts ongoing needs assessments and develops data-driven education plans.
  • Leads and coordinates orientation programs, partnering with orientees, preceptors, and leadership.
  • Designs and implements innovative, evidence-based, culturally competent education aligned with ANPD standards.
  • Assesses and validates team member competency through observation and evaluation methods.
  • Partners with leadership to monitor progress, provide feedback, and report outcomes.
  • Supports quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  • Collaborates across departments to advance professional development and interdisciplinary learning.
  • Maintains program documentation, reporting, and departmental visibility while serving as a resource and mentor.

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Graduate from an approved school of nursing with a BSN or higher.

Licensure/Certification

  • Current RN License with Alabama Board of Nursing.
  • National specialty certification in area of practice must be obtained within two (2) years of hire, except in cases where there is no certification available.
  • BLS

Experience

  • Three (3) total years of clinical experience required - 2 of those years must be in the ED or ICU. 
  • Preference given to candidates with a combination of emergency department and ICU experience.
