Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments in accordance with professional standards and the established plan of care
- Work collaboratively with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
- Educate and counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans and progress
- Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrate professional communication, caring behaviors, and a positive, patient‑focused attitude
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, program development, and safety/infection control activities
- Ensure appropriate documentation and efficient use of therapy equipment and supplies
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
Licensure & Certifications
- Active Alabama PTA License (required)
- Current BLS / Healthcare Provider certification
Experience
- No prior experience required — new graduates encouraged to apply
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, kneel, and assist with patient mobility throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and assist patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs, occasionally over 50 lbs with assistance)
- Comfortable working in a clinical environment with potential exposure to blood/body fluids and infectious diseases
- Ability to adapt to flexible schedules and changing patient care needs
