Position Summary
Heart South is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Imaging Services team. This role serves as a direct patient caregiver, performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures while ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and exceptional care.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to maintaining the highest standards in imaging and radiation safety.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, including:
- Nuclear Medicine studies
- SPECT and SPECT CT imaging
- PET imaging (as assigned)
- Cardiac stress laboratory functions, as required
- Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceutical doses in accordance with regulations
- Process, enhance, and document images for physician interpretation
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine and imaging equipment
- Perform quality control and safety checks on all nuclear medicine instrumentation
- Perform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for medication and radiopharmaceutical administration
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with radiation safety and regulatory requirements
- Participate in the ALARA Radiation Safety Program
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures being performed
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times
- Maintain compliance with Baptist Health policies, departmental guidelines, and education requirements
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Experience not required, but must have working knowledge of:
- Nuclear medicine procedures
- Equipment operation
- Radiation safety principles
Licensure & Certifications
Must meet one of the following:
- Current Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification through NMTCB
- Current ARRT (N) certification in Nuclear Medicine
Additionally required:
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
