Position Overview
We are seeking a Financial Counselor I to join our fast-paced medical office team. In this role, you will support patients and their families by clearly explaining financial responsibilities, insurance benefits, and payment options—ensuring a respectful and seamless financial experience.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and accurately input patient demographic and financial information
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations
- Explain insurance coverage, payment responsibilities, and collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay balances
- Maintain accurate documentation within registration systems
- Assist patients with financial forms and obtain required signatures
- Communicate with physicians, payers, and internal teams to ensure accurate account setup
- Perform cashiering functions and follow financial policies
- Support pre-registration activities and ensure all required documentation is completed
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain professionalism in all interactions
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of relevant experience (customer service, financial, or medical office setting)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities under pressure
