Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Counselor I to join our fast-paced medical office team. In this role, you will support patients and their families by clearly explaining financial responsibilities, insurance benefits, and payment options—ensuring a respectful and seamless financial experience.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather and accurately input patient demographic and financial information 
  • Verify insurance benefits and obtain authorizations
  • Explain insurance coverage, payment responsibilities, and collect co-pays, deductibles, and self-pay balances 
  • Maintain accurate documentation within registration systems 
  • Assist patients with financial forms and obtain required signatures 
  • Communicate with physicians, payers, and internal teams to ensure accurate account setup
  • Perform cashiering functions and follow financial policies
  • Support pre-registration activities and ensure all required documentation is completed 
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain professionalism in all interactions 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience (customer service, financial, or medical office setting)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred 
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities under pressure
